    Department Profile

    Department of Business Administration is the department with the most professional majors and most students, and it is well-staffed and the development prospect is quite broad. 

     

    Education Orientation

    To cultivate management personnel with certain cultural and innovation consciousness, strong professional skills and practical ability, good interpersonal skills, strong team cooperation spirit, and broad employment prospect in the field of business administration.

     

    Major Settings

    There are seven majors: Business Management, Marketing, International Business, Accounting, Logistics Management, Tourism Management and Electronic Commerce. Among them, Tourism Management and International Business both set up Sino-NZ international cooperation program.

     

    Teaching Mode

    It has established the new teaching mode of combination of practice and study and full credit system. This teaching model emphasizes the skill teaching, combines the classroom teaching, enterprises practical training and certificate of vocational skills together, builds the teaching structural system that characterized by cultivating highly-skilled talent. This reform has achieved good results.

     

    Teacher Resources

    There are 40 full-time teachers, 5 part-time teachers; among those more than 50% hold intermediate and senior professional titles, and more than 55% hold master degree or above. It is a teaching and scientific research team with vibrancy and cohesion. It has 4 professional labs, among which the total coverage of comprehensive practical-training lab of accounting and computerized laboratory is 200 square meters, which have been equipped with 150 new computers, the latest version of Jiedie financial software and other software for cost auditing, cost accounting and tax. There are 16 off-campus internship bases, which provide students with good practical training conditions.

     

    Employment Prospects

    All the majors’ settings are in accordance with the requirements of society and the local economic development, so the employment prospect of the graduates is very good. In addition, it has wide cooperation with enterprises; the ratio of students who passed the exam of professional- training program to undergraduate program is higher. It has cultivated thousands of graduates for 12 years. The graduate employment rate is always up to 96%, and most of the graduates are employed in Yangtze-River Delta region. More than 200 students have passed the examination and been transferred to Auckland Institute of Studies ST. HELENS New Zealand (AIS) for further study of bachelor’s courses.

    1Industrial and Commercial Enterprise Management

    Training Objectives: to cultivate high-quality applied talent with good personal character and professional ethics and good adaptability to the new situation of market economy needs. On the basis of mastering the basic theory and skills of business management, it focuses on the obtaining of the knowledge of enterprise management knowledge, which makes students to have the professional abilities to deal with business management, service management and administrative management, human resource management, market research and analysis, and accumulates certain practical experience.

     

    Employment Areas: the graduates can be employed by all kinds of industrial and commercial enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. The position mainly includes department manager and assistant, administrative management clerk, marketer, human resource assistant director, market business manager, supermarket manager, chain store manager and positions related with production management.

    2Marketing

    Training Objectives: to cultivate the students to obtain the knowledge, theory and method of business administration, economy, law, marketing and other aspects, to do the basic training of marketing techniques and skills, to train students’ pioneering and innovative spirit, to foster students’ ability to do market research analysis, marketing planning, organization and management ability, communication and coordination ability, marketing organizing ability and practical ability of marketing, to cultivate the applied innovative personnel with practical ability and sustainable development ability that can deal with marketing and management, business management in enterprises, public institutions and government departments.

     

    Employment Areas: Marketer is the indispensable personnel to all kinds of enterprises, the employment market is wide, and graduates of this major can engage in market research, market planning and development, marketing, management and control, sales and purchasing, brokers and agents, wholesale and retail and advertising planning work, after-sales service and other business in all levels of industrial, commercial and trade enterprises and organizations.

    Training Objectives: to train students to proficiently obtain the basic theory and practice of international economy and trade, to be familiar with international trade practice and the WTO rules with strong processing capacity of international business, to cultivate the outward-oriented economic management personnel that can deal with business activities and management in foreign investment enterprises and foreign economic and trade departments.

    5. Logistics Management

    (1) Hotel Management:

    Training Goal: This specialty aims to cultivate the high-quality managerial personnel for modern international hotel industry. Students in this specialty can obtain the knowledge of enterprise management, hotel human resources management, financial management, management of front desk service for guest rooms, and marketing management proficiently, to adapt to the development of modern hotel enterprises’ need.
